The Octopus

In the Winter 2022 issue of The New Quarterly, you’ll find a story I wrote called The Octopus. The first draft emerged about four years ago and now the wonderful team at TNQ has given it a home. What’s it about? Well, octopuses, for sure. Also winter, good neighbours, bad times, confusion, and yearning for something different.

My copy arrived the other day. So many great stories! I’m reading Mandy Bao-Phong Lam’s beautiful piece about her mother. I can’t wait to read the rest.
